Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF)

We are delighted to announce that Milton Keynes College Group (MKCG) will be our Lead Applicant in delivering the work of the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF). This is part of a long-term change programme, concerned with investing in the new facilities, provision and teaching expertise needed to deliver the skills priorities set out in the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) both of which are a key part of the Government’s 10-year vision for skills set out in the Skills for Jobs White Paper.

The outcome of the LSIP has defined an agreed set of actionable priorities that employers, providers, and stakeholders in a local area can get behind to drive change. They have placed employers at the heart of local skills systems and facilitated direct and dynamic working arrangements between employers and providers.

The primary purpose of LSIF is to address the gap between what the sector delivers, and the skills needed within the local labour market by ensuring that investment and delivery of skills is strategically planned at an area wide level. A collaborative group has been formed to meet this requirement.

As organisations within South-East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) you are invited to join the members of the collaboration to support LSIF.

You can find details of the collaboration members, and the projects which are being worked on here https://mkcollege.ac.uk/lsif. It is from here that you will be able to express your interest in supporting as either a Collaboration Delivery Provider or as a Wider Partner. These roles are fully defined in the LSIF guidance which can be found here Funding Guidance for the Local Skills Improvement Fund Stage 1 (publishing.service.gov.uk) Please note the requirements of each role in both Mobilisation and Delivery stage and the associated due diligence which will be required.
