Having to spend Christmas day in hospital will always be difficult but with thanks to the kindness and generosity of the local community, Northamptonshire Health Charity was again able to provide Christmas gifts for every inpatient at each of the hospitals they support.

Each year, the charity are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support in helping them to achieve this objective, which brings some Christmas joy to a patient.  All patients who were staying in hospital at Northampton General Hospital, Kettering General Hospital or at one of the community and mental health hospitals under Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust received a gift bag of items.

The charity team would like to send a very special thank you to everyone who got involved in the 2021 appeal enabling them to continue to make such a big difference. “To all of the individuals who donated items, to everyone who purchased from the Amazon Wish List and to all of the groups, local companies and internal hospital teams who were involved – we couldn’t have done it without you!” said Rob Powell, Charity Fundraiser, “Also, a huge thank you to all those who volunteered their time to help with sorting and distributing the presents across all of the hospitals – you are all amazing! And finally, a big big thank you to all of the staff who put the gift bags of items together for the patients on your wards on the day.”
