Calling all you avid golfers! Northamptonshire Health Charity is looking for teams for their 8th annual Charity Golf Day on Thursday 14 September, raising money for projects to enhance facilities across all three of the local NHS Trusts it supports.

Last year’s event raised £6,600 which was split between the appeal for the new outside play area for the children’s wards at Northampton General Hospital (NGH) and the Twinkling Stars Appeal for a new maternity bereavement suite at Kettering General Hospital.

The funds raised this year will continue to benefit Twinkling Stars but it will also be split between the Daisy Suite Appeal to enhance the maternity bereavement facilities at NGH and a garden renovation project at The Squirrels short break centre in Rushden.

Short breaks are provided by Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT) for disabled children and young people with disabilities who have either a diagnosis of autism, complex health needs and/or complex behaviour. Many of the children accessing the home use wheelchairs and need support from their carers in meeting their mobility needs and accessing the garden so the renovation will not only significantly enhance the environment but also make it much more accessible for all.

Community Fundraiser, Michelle Leighton said: “We are delighted to be hosting our 8^th
annual golf day at Northampton Golf Club and hoping to continue with the success of the previous year’s fundraising. We aim to have a great day of golf and fundraising supporting our local hospitals and community services. This day is a great opportunity to network with other local companies, support a good cause and have fun!”

Sign up your team of 4 for an un-fore-gettable day and you will be helping to make a huge difference to so many people in the local community. It costs £260 for your team of golfers and there will be prizes for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd
teams, nearest the pin and longest drive.
