Staff at Warner’s Distillery support special care baby unit at NGH

Staff at the local Warner’s Distillery have recently donated £490 to the Gosset neonatal ward at Northampton General Hospital via Northamptonshire Health Charity. The team had a fundraising day and as part of this they were each asked to nominate the local charity that would receive the money they raised on the day.

“We would like to send a huge thank you to Krystyna Threlfall and all of her colleagues at Warner’s Distillery for choosing Gosset ward to benefit from their fundraising,” said Rob Powell from the charity.

The donation was made to the NHS charity via 4Theo by Krystyna in memory of Theo Crussell, thanks to her contact with Theo’s dad, Rob. Northamptonshire Health Charity has received more than £26,000 over the years in memory of Theo, supporting equipment and projects for the bereavement midwives, Gosset ward and the Robert Watson maternity ward.

The funds will go towards the parent’s accommodation project for the ward. Babies from outside the local area are often looked after on Gosset, which means added stress for their parents at what is already a very difficult time. Once built, Northampton General Hospital will provide two self-contained living quarters that will support this need so that parents can stay near their babies.
