A tradition of local manufacturing excellence and Northamptonshire’s position at the heart and centre of the UK are just two of the reasons global can-making company Ball Corporation (‘Ball’) selected Kettering as the site of their new plant.

With construction picking up pace and all on track for its official opening in the New Year, Ball’s new SEGRO Park Kettering Gateway site will mark the company’s third manufacturing site in the UK, building on years of stable employment for its teams based at Ball’s Milton Keynes and Wakefield facilities.

Paulina Panus, HR Manager for Ball’s new Kettering plant, said: “As construction picks up pace so too is our recruitment drive. We are committed to shaping and creating a truly inclusive place of work and have had scores of high-level, exciting applications following our summer job fairs. We continue to be incredibly impressed by the local enthusiasm and talent and our pre-employment training programme means that scores of our new recruits are already employed and in training, ready for the new plan to open.”

Ball are the world’s leading manufacturer of infinitely recyclable aluminium drinks cans, the world’s most widely recycled beverage packaging with an 82% recycling rate in the UK and 76% across Europe.

Their new 56,000m² facility in Barton Seagrave near Kettering is scheduled to begin production next January, with a local workforce of more than 200.
