Happy 7th Birthday To The Lewis Foundation

Member News

7th April 2023 saw The Lewis Foundation turn 7 years old!

The Lewis Foundation was initially set up in 2016 by Lorraine Lewis BCAh and Lee Lewis BCAh, when Lee’s mother was diagnosed with cancer and realising just how lonely undergoing treatment for the illness could be. The charity was created to ensure the basic needs of the cancer patients were met by providing items that would help to pass the time, provide comfort and/or are essential items.

Patients can now pick from 29 free gift packs offered by The Lewis Foundation when in hospital. Packs contain overnight essentials, toiletries, craft sets, hydration supplies, puzzles, miniature radios with headphones, and lots more.

In 2016 The Lewis Foundation was giving away 80 gift packs a month to one hospital, it has now increased to more than 2,000 gift packs to 17 hospitals across the midlands every month.

The Lewis Foundation has now given away over 100,000 gifts in the last 7 year, 25 awards and almost hit the £1,000,000 mark raised.

The Lewis Foundation is proud of how the community has come together to support those in need. From our volunteers, schools and businesses to community groups, people of all ages want to do something to have a positive impact on the lives of others.

Everyone has played such an important role in the success of the charity.

Thank you all for making a difference to the lives of others.

Our target for the next month to celebrate our 7th month is to fund 2000 gifts. This means we need to raise £7,200, you will see a lot of posts and fundraising about this over the next month.
