Golfing for a Cause: Wallace Hind Selection’s Charity Golf Event 2023
Member News
The Wallace Hind golf day was held at The Overstone Park Golf Club on the 22nd June and was a fabulous day spent with some of our fantastic clients. We were blessed on the day with warm weather and everyone teed off with a smile on their face, showcasing their skills and playing some impressive golf.
As part of our client golf day, Wallace Hind like to support several charities that are close to our heart. The sale of Raffle Tickets and the Mulligans (a second chance shot when a golfer has hit a poor tee shot that they would rather forget!) on the day, made an amazing total of £1,300 to be shared between the following three charities:
- Widowed and Young
- Cancer Research
- Northampton Hope Centre
Our clients and teams generosity in these difficult times is truly remarkable and will go a little way in showing our support and thanks to all the charities who do so much to help so many people when needed.
Widowed and Young, www.widowedandyoung.org.uk
Widowed and Young is a charity which is close to the heart of us here at Wallace Hind as they have offered their continued support to one of our own, and we want to thank them for their amazing endeavours as the only national charity in the UK which offers a peer-to-peer support network for anyone who has lost their partner before their 51st birthday.
Cancer Research UK, www.cancerresearchuk.org
We will also be making a donation to Cancer Research in memory of one of our colleagues, Tony Moroney who sadly passed away earlier this year after a short illness. Tony was part of the Wallace Hind family for 10 years of his career.
So many lives are touched by cancer, and Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer research organisation which funds treatments, research and supports people with the disease.
Northampton Hope Centre, www.northamptonhopecentre.org.uk
The final charity that we would like to support is a local, Northampton based charity – The Northampton Hope Centre. The Northampton Hope Centre helps people who are experiencing problems of disadvantage and marginalisation, including hardship, homelessness, addiction and mental health. As well as providing practical support, they focus on helping people to help themselves.
Over the last few weeks, we have had one of their collection boxes based in the office which we have filled, and we would like to do this again, using the monies fundraised at our Golf Day.
We are looking forward to more exciting events and opportunities to connect with our valued clients in the future!
