Don’t be late for this very important date…

With the start of new Executive Director, Kate Chadwick, Stanwick Lakes will be holding an Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland themed Trail as well as lots of fun activities this Easter.

The trail, at only £3 per trail, will run from the 2 – 18 April 9 am – 4 pm, with large eggs and charming characters to find. Each weekend of the school holidays and 15 – 16 April, will include a chance to see adorable animals, face painting, fun craft activities, a prize draw and competitions.

The trail and activities coincide along the reopening of the visitor centre and café.

Stanwick Lakes is a 750 acre countryside attraction and nature reserve. It has a diverse range of habitats including reed beds, lakes, marginal vegetation, riparian, woodland, wet woodland, scrub, grassland and wet grassland, all of which need to be managed to maintain the abundance of wildlife which depend on them. Rockingham Forest Trust Rangers manage the site to conserve these habitats for future generations. Most of Stanwick Lakes is a protected Nature Reserve and a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention. It is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Protection Area (SPA) for the birds that rely on the specialised habitat throughout the seasons.
