The weekend promises to be packed with community spirit, culture, and live music, featuring show-stopping performances from local favourites. One of the headliners for the event will be Britain’s Got Talent finalist Northants Sings Out and BBC Introducing, bringing the best of the country’s emerging talent to the main stage, which will be bursting with energy and excitement.

Hosted by West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) and Northampton Forward, this celebration marks the transformation of the town’s historic Market Square, a space now destined to become the beating heart of the community for generations to come.

But that’s not all—this isn’t just a celebration; it’s a full-blown family-friendly extravaganza! Get ready for an incredible lineup of fun activities, including creative musical performances, cultural displays, historic exhibitions, and an irresistible selection of delicious food and drink from local vendors. 

Shoppers will be delighted to explore the offerings of local market traders, showcasing a fantastic variety of fresh, locally produced goods, handmade gifts, and expert services. From bicycle repairs and key cutting to butchery, floristry, and ethical crafts from Ghana, the market will be brimming with opportunities to shop local and support small businesses.

As traders begin to return from 20 September, the phased reopening will see Market Square become the go-to destination for everything from digital print services to nail salons, with fresh fruit, vegetables, plants, and floristry adding to the vibrant marketplace atmosphere.

The transformed space pays homage to Northampton’s rich heritage, boasting high-quality market stalls, beautiful new seating, enhanced lighting, and a stunning interactive water feature. The Market Square is set to be an inclusive, accessible space where the community can come together to create memories, host events, and enjoy a bustling marketplace.

Funded by the Government-led Towns Fund and overseen by Northampton Forward, this regeneration project promises to breathe new life into the town, boosting the local economy, creating opportunities for businesses, and making Northampton a must-visit destination for residents and visitors alike.
