Big Sleep Out Launch 2025!
Hope Centre Officially Launches their 2025 Big Sleep Out Event.
Our annual fundraising event will take place on Friday, 7th February 2025 and will be titled ‘Cold and Unseen’. The event will raise awareness and vital funds for the many people we support facing homelessness across Northamptonshire. Historically it’s one of our largest fundraisers and raises over £20,000 each year.
Mercure Hotel Partnership:
We are thrilled to be partnering with the Mercure Hotel in central Northampton for the 2025 event. Hosting the event in their carpark participants will experience what it’s like in noisy central Northampton, offering a glimpse into what it’s like to sleep rough during one of the coldest months of the year.
Shelter Building:
With only a sleeping bag, participants will build their own shelter using materials found on the streets, and will experience a small but impactful part of the reality faced by many rough-sleepers every night.
Additional Resources:
The 2025 event will also feature additional activities and resources, designed to deepen participants’ understanding of homelessness and its long-lasting impact on mental health and wellbeing. The goal is to help participants not only to empathise with the experience of rough sleeping but to gain insights into the mental strain it places on those who live through it.
Take Part On-Site:
Following its popularity this year, there will be the option for businesses to participate on their own business premises, such as workplace carparks, allowing more flexibility for busy schedules!
Official Launch Event:
To officially kick off next year’s event, we are holding a launch event on Thursday, 26th September at HandUp our homeless centre. It’s located at Oasis House, 35-37 Campbell St, Northampton, NN1 3DS. The drop-in event will run from 17:30 to 19:30 and will be an opportunity to find out about the work we do and information about taking part in our Big Sleep Out event.
