3 patterns I see in fast-moving Northamptonshire businesses

Now that I’ve settled into the Chamber community, I wanted to share something practical — the three patterns I see most often when local SMEs are growing quickly or feeling stretched.

1. Too many priorities, not enough clarity Everyone is working hard, but not always on the same things. It creates noise, rework and frustration.

2. Roles that have outgrown the people The business has scaled, but the structure hasn’t. This is where friction, bottlenecks and overwhelm start to show up.

3. A leadership rhythm that doesn’t support delivery Meetings, decisions and communication become reactive rather than intentional — and it quietly drains energy.

These patterns are completely normal in growing organisations. They’re also fixable.

I work with CEOs and leadership teams to create clarity, alignment and a calmer, more effective organisation.

If any of this feels familiar, I’m always happy to be a sounding board for fellow Chamber members. Sometimes a 20‑minute conversation brings more clarity than you expect.
