A women’s health consultancy, which empowers women to better know their bodies, is set to increase its social impact through the formation of a non-profit organisation, Viva Core CIC, just eight months after launching at a Northamptonshire workspace.

Viva Core offers specialist support to women, through education, movement and awareness, at its base inside town centre hub Vulcan Works.

Since its launch, Viva Core has delivered free Pilates classes, educational events, and talks surrounding women’s health – the most recent covered ‘Breaking the Stigma around Menopause’ in partnership with the Northamptonshire Chambers of Commerce.

The formation of the CIC will help to increase the social impact and further Viva Core’s mission, nationally and internationally.

The studio, which opened in November last year, is run by female champion Joyce Mwape, who chose Vulcan Works for its community feel and unparalleled business support and has thrived under its roof.

Joyce is now looking to open a second studio in Zambia, Africa. She said: “I have grand ambitions. I’m looking to grow and hire more people and take our local expertise further. There’s so much brilliance out there in women’s health and we want to partner with those brilliant people instead of reinventing the wheel.”

Joyce has been working with Vulcan Works’ Business Growth Manager Darren Smith to help shape her plans and she said she has been grateful for his advice and support.

“Darren is one of the biggest perks of being here at Vulcan Works,” she said. “It’s more than just rental of a space, it’s business advice, community support, and business support. Darren and Owen from the on-site Barclays Eagle Lab have provided lots of insightful conversations. They encourage me and it feels like a mentorship type of relationship.”
