Zinc Digital extends Maggie’s Northampton partnership as fundraising nears £2,500
Zinc Digital has renewed its partnership with Maggie’s Northampton having raised nearly £2,500 for the charity since joining forces last year – and the fundraising is not stopping.
The partnership began in 2025, when Zinc Digital’s staff voted unanimously to make Maggie’s their Charity of the Year. The Northampton centre, which was still under construction when the pledge was made, has since opened on the grounds of Northampton General Hospital. It offers free, expert practical, emotional and psychological support to anyone living with cancer, including their families and friends, and sits just 100 metres from NGH’s oncology department.
Across the team, staff have thrown themselves into fundraising in a variety of ways.
Will Billingham, Support Technician, has raised over £500 by walking 30km in one day, to celebrate 30 Years of Maggie’s. Digital Marketing Executives Lydia Copson and Sydney Mitchell completed 5km at the Silverstone Run Fest, while Senior Developer Stuart Kirkland climbed Snowdon to raise funds. Many members of the wider team walked 30km over the month of March.
Caitlin Goddard, SEO Specialist at Zinc Digital, who first proposed the partnership and has also run the 10km Silverstone Run Fest, raising over £775 said: “I suggested Maggie’s to the team after I saw first-hand how incredible their support is for cancer patients and their loved ones. We’ve been lucky enough to see the Maggie’s Northampton centre literally build from the ground up, attend their events, and meet the team who are making a huge difference in Northampton.
“Over the past year, I’ve been completely blown away by how the team has come together to raise money for the cause. Team members from different departments have climbed mountains, run for miles, and worked together to keep our total increasing – and we’re not done yet, with some big plans in place for the rest of the year. I’m so grateful for the whole team’s effort, and the support of everyone who has donated.”
Colleague Lydia added: “Almost everybody has been affected by cancer at some point in their lives – I personally kept my Grandad in mind every step of the way.”
Jodie Mutch, Centre Fundraising Manager for Oxford and Northampton at Maggie’s, said: “We’re hugely thankful to Zinc for their incredible commitment and showing such enthusiasm for the year ahead with a range of fundraising activities planned. Their support plays a vital role in helping us continue to provide free, expert support to people with cancer and their loved ones.
“As Maggie’s celebrates 30 years of supporting people with cancer, it’s an important moment to reflect on how far we’ve come – and how much more we still want to do. Although our Northampton centre is new, we are passionate about raising awareness locally so that everyone knows support is available, and no one has to face cancer alone. Zinc’s partnership is helping us make that a reality.”
Maggie’s Centres are warm and welcoming places built alongside NHS hospitals that provide the support that people with cancer and their family and friends need.
Zinc Digital, founded in 2004 by former Wellingborough schoolfriends Joe Zielinski and Paul Coverdale, has grown to a 20 plus strong team with over 140 years of combined experience – winning Small Business of the Year and the West Northants Innovation Award at the 2025 Northamptonshire Chamber Business Awards.
