The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation Visits the Heart of UK Politics
A group comprising clients, volunteers, trustees, and staff from The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation (TMDF) recently had the privilege of visiting the Palace of Westminster and the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London. The visit was kindly facilitated by Mike Reader, MP for Northampton South, who extended an invitation for the group to join a guided tour.
During the visit, Mr Reader and his office manager, Robert Parkinson, served as tour guides, providing an engaging and informative overview of the UK’s parliamentary system. The group was able to explore the House of Lords and the House of Commons, as well as several lesser-known areas within the historic building, all showcasing significant history and remarkable works of art. They also observed a plaque dedicated to Spencer Perceval, Northampton’s former MP and the only British Prime Minister ever to be assassinated.
