Two new Menuserve savoury tarts unveiled by Central Foods

Ideal for late Summer and early Autumn menus, Central Foods has launched two new savoury tarts for the foodservice sector.  The first is a brand new tomato, goat’s cheese and basil tart and the second is the popular Mediterranean vegetable tart, which has been updated to make it even more delicious.

Both Menuserve tarts are 4 inches in diameter, approximately 160g each, and simply need baking to crisp the pastry and heat through before serving.

Gordon Lauder, MD of Central Foods, said: “Savoury pastry tarts are a popular choice for a light lunch or snack, and we are delighted to be launching two new options in the Menuserve range.  One is a brand new flavour and the other has a new improved recipe.

“The colourful, vegan Mediterranean vegetable tart is a great addition to any menu, as it will appeal to those customers and diners with dietary requirements, as well as more generally. The tomato, goat’s cheese and basil tart is a super vegetarian alternative which again will be popular with all customers.”

The Tomato, goat’s cheese and basil tart features a tasty cheese and basil quiche-style filling with sun-dried tomatoes in a herb-flecked pastry case, topped with a slice of tangy goat’s cheese.

The reformulated Mediterranean vegetable tart includes a chunky tomato, aubergine, courgette and mixed peppers filling on a bed of tangy tomato sauce, topped with a half cherry tomato, all in a herb-flecked pastry case.

Light lunch or snack

Ideal for a light lunch or snack, the Menuserve tarts are perfect for a range of food service outlets from coffee shops and cafés through to pubs, universities, grab and go venues, garden centres and care homes.

Each product is available to catering staff in cases of 12.
