Trustees required for local community hub

The Doddridge Centre is driven by its mission to uplift the community in and around St. James by empowering the members of the community to build up resilience.

Behind the scenes of every organisation, but particularly a small charity, is a group of people who oversee its direction, compliance to ensure we are delivering on our charitable articles,  the public benefit – these are our Trustees.

We also have a fantastic management team at Doddridge Centre and they have been building this charity over the last few years into a dynamic organisation that has a future, with a set of goals that further strengthen our offer to the local community.

We have recently updated our strategic plan that sets out our pathway to delivering our aims. We need proactive Trustees who can support our team and bring their own set of skills to augment and enhance the current Board.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP FURTHER OUR MISSION?

To help us develop further and to ensure we continue on a sound financial footing, that complies with all relevant legislation, delivers due diligence whilst supporting our community, we are looking to strengthen our board of trustees.

If you have a passion for community support that delivers opportunities for personal development, wellbeing, events and activities but also supports other community and non-profit organisations then we would like to hear from you.

We welcome people with a range of skill sets from a diverse set of backgrounds and walks of life that reflect how our communities are made up.

However, we would particularly welcome people with sound experience in the area of legal compliance, fundraising and marketing, cyber security, safeguarding, property and estate management and accounting as examples.

Good communication and IT skills are essential as is a willingness to give up your time to attend, not just board meetings, but where your time permits, to take an active part in supporting activities at the centre as well as supporting our paid and volunteer staff. This is a hands-on opportunity to work within a friendly, family-type atmosphere. This is a responsible position, is unpaid and on a voluntary basis and requires probity and honesty on the part of any individual taking on such a role.

If you are ready to raise the Doddridge Centre’s impact on the community please contact Graham Croucher chair@doddridgecentre.org.uk for further details.

We look forward to hearing from you!
