Speedy Freight, a national end to end logistics provider, with a local branch in Brackmills Northamptonshire, has recently appointed Cawleys as their exclusive recycling partner.

The pandemic has placed a huge demand on courier services and logistical companies. The surge in online shopping has put a strain on services and Speedy Freight has been one of the companies to rise to the demand and is now busier than ever.

Speedy Freight offers a bespoke delivery service for businesses across the UK. They specialise in urgent, fragile, or high value loads, as well as abnormal, delicate or difficult to handle items that require extra careful handling. As well as regular logistics, they provide warehousing solutions, including a 40,000 sq ft facility on Northamptonshire. The goal is to provide completely tailored solutions to the needs of the customers’ business.

As part of their move to increase recycling, Cawleys will provide Speedy Freight with rear-end loaders of cardboard and plastic which will be graded, baled, and sent onward to specialist recycling facilities.

The partnership between Cawleys and Speedy Freight will allow the logistics company to go one step further with their environmental goals. Working with a local waste provider helps them keep waste milage low and further cut carbon emissions whilst ensuring every waste item is put to good use ensuring maximised sustainability.

Cawleys, one of the largest independent, family-run recycling and waste management companies in the region, has an impressive processing site that handles around 1000 tons of waste a day. It is equipped with more than 3km of conveyor belts, uses high tech optical detectors to separate plastic from paper and state-of-the-art magnetic technology to sort metals.

Sean Belham from Speedy Freight commented: “We’re so excited to be working together with a local company such as Cawleys, they will play a huge role in assisting us in further improving our eco-credentials. Working with Cawleys supports our ethos to a more sustainable future, Cawleys are the perfect local solution to help us with our environmental goals”

Nick Powell, Sales Executive at Cawleys added: “When I first spoke to Sean at Speedy Freight, he was looking for a reliable company that would help them recycle and take the hassle away from having to worry about waste management. After an initial meeting, Sean liked the idea of working with a local independent family business with the added bonus of having a local contact on hand.”
