Showcase to celebrate apprenticeships
A dynamic and celebratory day to showcase the benefits and successes of apprenticeships will take place at Northampton’s Vulcan Works next month.
The Starting Off Apprenticeship Showcase will run from 9.30am to 3.00pm on Friday 26th September.
The day will be a fun-filled mix of opportunities to network with local businesses, learn about the updates and changes in the apprenticeship sector, support a local charity for children with cancer and celebrate the achievements of local apprentices.
Starting Off has an excellent reputation across the county for providing well-trained, well-prepared apprentices for local businesses.
The apprenticeship recruitment and training provider is inviting its clients and ambassadors to exhibit at the event free of charge.
Managing director Katie Goodall said: “Bring a stand and set up for the day – ideally with your apprentice to help – to showcase to new prospects what you do but also the amazing contribution an apprentice can bring.
“We would love for local businesses to be involved and bring any contacts and colleagues along that you feel may benefit from learning more about the apprenticeship journey.”
There will also be an apprenticeship information forum and Q&A session in which industry experts will cover recruitment, funding, the digital account set up, employer contributions, incentives, salaries, levy and anything else you want to know about apprenticeships.
Katie added: “If you’re considering employing an apprentice in your business but don’t know where to start – this is for you. Equally, if you employ apprentices and want to keep up to date with upcoming news – you will benefit from this.”
The event will also support the BeMoreFab Children’s Cancer Charity, who work in conjunction with the Anthony Nolan Hero Project – an initiative dedicated to educating and inspiring young people to become bone marrow donors, blood donors, and organ donors.
Guests will hear the inspiring story of a local family whose world was shattered when, on Friday 13th May 2022, their daughter, Florence, was diagnosed with leukaemia. Her prognosis was incredibly poor from the start, and it quickly became clear that chemotherapy wasn’t working. Against all odds, Florrie was able to receive a bone marrow transplant. The event’s hero project session aims to demystify the donation process, tackle misconceptions, and empower students to save lives.
The Showcase event concludes with the annual Starting Off Apprentice of the Year Awards. If you have a super star apprentice currently studying with Starting Off or who has completed in the last 12 months and you would like to nominate them please contact Rachel.manz@startingoff.co.uk to receive an entry form.
Centre Manager at Vulcan Works, Garrick Hurter, said: “We were delighted to welcome Starting Off when they moved into Vulcan Works at the end of last year and it is fantastic to see them using the space as it is meant to be used – to bring people together, collaborate, build networks, and share ideas.
“We wish them every success with the Apprenticeship Showcase.”
Tickets to the Apprenticeship Showcase include lunch. Exact timings for each activity will be released once a booking is made.
