Proaction Martial Arts Brings Home European Silver
Proaction Martial Arts is celebrating a landmark weekend at the European Championships, where its athletes delivered outstanding performances on one of the most competitive stages in international Taekwondo.
The highlight of the event came from Alfie Andrews, who produced a sensational multi-discipline campaign to bring home a European Silver Medal in sparring, alongside a medal in patterns and a great performance in special technique. Alfie’s performances demonstrated exceptional discipline, composure, and fighting spirit throughout – culminating in a European final appearance that reflects years of dedicated development and elite-level preparation.
Alongside this standout achievement, Proaction was represented by Krish Rathod, Finlay Brown, Joshua McMurdy, Joshua Manton, Blake Taylor, Summer Kightley, and Cian Guest, all competing at European level – many for the very first time.
Each athlete demonstrated the true tenets of Taekwondo – courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit – all of which truly valuable to all individuals. These England representatives from Proaction stepped onto the international stage with professionalism, courage, and resilience. While not every athlete returned with medals, all gained invaluable experience, with several narrowly missing podium finishes after strong performances against Europe’s best.
This collective performance highlights not only individual talent, but the strength of the Proaction development system – producing athletes capable of competing, performing, and learning at the highest level.
Proaction Martial Arts remains committed to nurturing these young athletes as future leaders – both within martial arts and the wider community – through structured coaching, values-led development, and international competition experience.
The club extends its thanks to Master Nicholson and Coach Mr Glos for their leadership and support throughout the event.
With momentum building and standards rising, attention now turns to the next challenge: the Welsh Open, as Proaction continues to develop the next generation of champions.
