Northamptonshire Chamber names The Air Ambulance Service as Charity of the Year 2026/2027

Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce has named The Air Ambulance Service as its Charity of the Year for 2026/2027.

As Charity of the Year, The Air Ambulance Service will receive complimentary Silver Chamber Partner membership, giving the charity access to a wide range of networking opportunities and business support throughout the year.

The membership also includes complimentary tickets to selected Chamber networking events, increased visibility through the Chamber’s website, and further opportunities to share its work through wider Chamber publications.

The Chamber’s Charity of the Year initiative is designed to give local charities a stronger platform within the business community, helping them raise awareness, build meaningful relationships and connect with organisations across the county.

The Air Ambulance Service, which receives no NHS funding, responded to 405 emergencies across Northamptonshire in 2025 alone.
Operating its helicopter emergency medical services under the name Your Local Air Ambulance, the charity serves communities across Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The charity also operates the National Children’s Air Ambulance, a one-of-a-kind dedicated helicopter transfer service that has transported more than 1,200 critically ill babies and children to specialist hospitals where they can receive the best possible care.

Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce Membership Manager Jenny Copeland said: “We feel it is important to support county charities and to highlight the incredible contribution they make to our local communities.

“We are proud to name The Air Ambulance Service as our Charity of the Year for 2026/2027 and look forward to working with the team to help raise their profile, build new relationships and connect them with businesses across the county.”

Andrew Partridge, Community Fundraising Executive, said: “All of us at The Air Ambulance Service are thrilled to be chosen as The Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce’s charity of the year. We have been operating for over 20 years, and in that time, we have carried out thousands of life-saving missions in the county. The support of the local community and partnerships like this one really make a huge impact on our outreach, and we are so grateful for the opportunity.”
