Love letters to the hospice
Loved ones of patients cared for by Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity are invited to send a love letter to the hospice this Valentine’s Day (14th February).
The much-loved palliative care provider is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and as part of the celebrations to mark the milestone, the team are looking for 50 people to recount their own experience of the care their family received.
The stories will be shared across its social media platforms over the next 12 months to highlight the incredible work Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity does in the community.
By asking for love letters, the charity hope to add to the current tally with even more touching tales.
The notes could be from local families or from patients themselves and there is no restriction on word count. The request is just that they give an honest account of their experience and hopefully show their love for the hospice and the staff inside.
Maya Joseph Hussain, CEO at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, said: “Our palliative care services provide amazing support for local families at a very vulnerable time, and our team touch countless lives through their kindness and dedication.
“It would be incredible to share some of the stories that make up our 50 wonderful years of serving the community. This year is about remembrance, gratitude and celebration and we want to involve as many people as possible – because our service is for everyone.
“So, if your family is a family we’ve cared for in the past, whether that be through inpatient care, at home, or in the community, please do consider taking the time to share your story with us. You could just help to secure our future by helping us to raise awareness of palliative care in such a momentous year.”
You can send your love letter to marketing@cynthiaspencer.co.uk or by post to Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity, Pondwood House, Pondwood Close, Northampton, NN3 6RT.
