LOUGHBOROUGH LIGHTNING TO RETURN TO NORTHAMPTON IN MAY
Member News
Loughborough Lightning will return to cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday 14 May, as they take on Harlequins for their final Allianz Premier 15s clash of the regular season.
After going undefeated in nine of their last ten matches, Rhys Edwards’ Lightning side have propelled themselves into contention in one of the mostly tightly contested races for the league’s play-offs ever.
Loughborough beat Exeter Chiefs 28-25 in a nail-biting encounter on their debut appearance at the Gardens in February, and will welcome defending Premier 15s champions Harlequins in what could prove to be a winner-takes-all fixture with a semi-final place on the line.
“We’re delighted to welcome Lightning back to the Gardens in May for what could be an absolutely pivotal fixture,” said Saints’ Director of Marketing and Communications, Tim Percival.
“One of the key ambitions of our partnership with Loughborough is continue to broaden the audience for women’s and girls’ rugby in our region – and at February’s Double Header event we saw thousands of spectators stay behind after Saints’ match to support them.
“I’m sure our supporters will turn out in their droves again to create a special atmosphere, and make Lightning feel at home here in Northampton for their first standalone fixture at the stadium.”
Tickets are on sale now, starting from just £7 (adult) / £3 (child) – but Northampton Saints Season Ticket Holders can attend for FREE using their regular Season Ticket cards, and will receive 50 bonus Saints Rewards points for attending the game.
Please note, seating for this match will be unreserved within the Carlsberg Stand (and if necessary, the cinch Stand). If you are a Season Ticket Holder, you will not necessarily be able to use your regular matchday seat.
