Today Kettering Study Programme had the pleasure of welcoming Mayor Ben to Woodcroft the home of Northants Adult Learning; Study Programme. Curriculum Manager Louise had previously met Mayor Ben and instantly recognised that his story would be inspirational to the learners at Study Programme. Today Ben shared his own story, our learners are often forgotten, so to have the Mayor of Kettering take time out of his day to come and speak to these young people was amazing. The Study Programme is a 16-19 year NEET provision, with learners come from Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough and Thrapston.

This provision makes a huge difference in these young people’s lives. On a daily basis Jade Dryden manages the SP and arranges enrichment sessions that help our young people be ready for their next steps. The Mayor has left the class with an inspirational quote “it’s not about plan or particular skill it’s about taking advantage of the opportunities you have now and finding the next one“.
