Industry award finalists after public nomination

An innovative, forward-thinking health and safety consultancy has been shortlisted for the prestigious Tomorrow’s Health and Safety Awards 2026.

Northampton-based Acorn Safety Services has been recognised for its Fire Safety Services and will now go forward to a public vote to decide the winner.

The Tomorrow’s Health and Safety Awards 2026 are widely recognised as a benchmark of excellence within the health and safety sector, and organisers say this year’s entries, nominated by readers of Tomorrow’s Health and Safety magazine, are the strongest field yet.

The honours showcase the standout innovations and game-changing services shaping the industry, recognising organisations that continue to push standards in occupational health, safety and wellbeing through their products and services.

Acorn Safety Services have had a monumental year, recruiting nine new staff members with plans to recruit further and moving to much larger premises to keep up with the exponential growth.

Their business model is unique, with three specialist experts heading up and managing their own divisions – Legionella, Fire Safety, and Health & Safety – and in the last two years, the team has seen a dramatic increase in companies reaching out for support with fire risk management.

Acorn Safety Services has also recognised a need for sharing information and best practice in fire safety by developing a fire warden training course and publishing a book – Fire Risk: The Dark Arts – to provide an in-depth exploration of fire risk assessments, an integral component of fire safety management, and comprehensive insights into creating and maintaining effective fire safety protocols.

Operations Director Zeynep Guzelkasap said: “It is wonderful to be recognised by such a beacon of excellence as the Tomorrow’s Health and Safety Awards. The calibre of finalists is very impressive, and we are delighted to be listed as one of the industry’s leading names.

“We have seen a dramatic increase in demand for our fire safety services following the introduction of Section 156 of the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA) in October 2023, which has led to the appointment of more staff in order to meet demand. Strategically growing the team has allowed us to expand our offering while continuing to provide a first-class service to our valued customers.”
