Impact HR continues rapid national growth with acquisitions and strategic new hires
People-first HR consultancy, Impact HR, has continued its rapid expansion through a combination of strategic acquisitions, geographical growth and new appointments.
Originally founded as Kingswood Group in 2018, the business rebranded to Impact HR in October 2025 following a period of significant growth and acquisition activity across the UK.
Since then, the company has strengthened its national footprint with acquisitions in Leeds, Leicester, Milton Keynes and, most recently, Cardiff, enabling it to provide integrated HR, payroll, health and safety and people advisory services to SMEs nationwide.
The latest acquisition last month saw Impact HR acquire Cardiff-based consultancy EffectiveHRM, adding a Wales base to its growing operations and bringing more than 150 SME clients and 12 employees into the wider group.
Alongside its acquisition strategy, Impact HR has also experienced strong organic growth, expanding both its leadership team and regional consultancy presence to support growing client demand.
Recent appointments include James Roberts as HR Advisor, Mellissa Charles as HR Consultant and Amber Shoyer as Group Digital Marketing Executive.
James Roberts has joined the company as a HR Advisor supporting the Leeds and northern region. James previously worked as an in-house HR advisor for a FTSE 250 IT consultancy, gaining international HR and legal experience alongside expertise in automation and AI-driven HR processes.
James said: “What attracted me to Impact HR was the opportunity to help shape and develop a growing business from both a HR and IT perspective. I’m excited to bring experience from a large global organisation into an ambitious SME environment and help support its next stage of growth.”
Mellissa Charles has joined Impact HR as a HR Consultant supporting SMEs across the Eastern region. With more than 25 years’ HR experience, Melissa brings expertise across employee relations, employment law, workplace mediation and organisational change, having previously worked within major financial institutions and operated her own consultancy business.
Melissa said: “I feel like I’ve joined the business at a really exciting time. You can clearly see the investment and ambition behind the company’s growth plans, and I’m looking forward to helping expand our regional presence even further across the Eastern region.”
Amber Shoyer joins the business with a background in digital marketing, brand development and content strategy, having previously completed a Level 3 Digital Marketing apprenticeship before progressing into a marketing executive role at a specialist marketing agency.
Speaking about joining the company during a period of rapid growth, Amber said: “It’s exciting to be part of a business that is growing so quickly. I’m looking forward to supporting that growth through marketing, helping to raise awareness of the brand and generate new opportunities for the business.”
The new appointments follow several other senior hires over the past year, including Greg Guilford as Group CEO, Juliet Irving as Director of HR Operations and James Balding as Head of Health and Safety.
Greg Guilford, Group CEO of Impact HR, said: “The last 18 months have been transformational for Impact HR. We’ve grown both organically and through acquisition, expanded geographically across the UK and continued to strengthen our team with exceptional people who share our values and vision.
“Our ambition is to build a truly national HR consultancy that combines local expertise with the scale and capability to support SMEs through every stage of their growth journey.
“What’s particularly exciting is that while we continue to grow rapidly, we’ve maintained the people-first culture and practical, commercially focused approach that clients value.”
