A Rushden-based family business is celebrating after being named a finalist in two categories at this year’s Northamptonshire Business Awards.

Cleaning company Inter County Service Group Ltd has been shortlisted for both High Growth Business of the Year and Employer of the Year, recognising an exceptional 12 months of business growth alongside its continued investment in employee development.

Organised by Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, the awards celebrate the county’s most successful and forward-thinking businesses.

The double shortlisting follows a transformational year for Inter County, which has seen the company grow its workforce by almost 57% in just 12 months following the acquisition of Clean4Shaw Facilities Management, safeguarding 147 jobs and expanding its customer base by almost 200 clients in the process.

The business has also continued to secure record numbers of new contracts while investing in its people, marketing and long-term growth strategy.

The Employer of the Year nomination recognises Inter County’s commitment to creating a supportive workplace where employees can build long-term careers through accredited training, ongoing development and a strong family culture. The business now employs more than 400 people, with 55 employees having been with the company for more than 20 years.

The latest recognition builds on Inter County’s recent success at the Northamptonshire SME Business Awards earlier this year, where the company was named Family Business of the Year, before going on to be crowned Overall Winner at the event.

The winners of the Northamptonshire Business Awards will be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 11^th September 2026 at Sywell Aerodrome.
