From Winner to Sponsor: What the Customer Commitment Award Means to Proaction

Proaction Martial Arts is incredibly proud to sponsor the Customer Commitment Award at the Northamptonshire Business Awards.

For us, this award has a very personal significance. Having had the privilege of winning the Customer Commitment Award for two consecutive years, it felt like the right moment to move from recipient to sponsor and help recognise the next Northamptonshire business demonstrating an exceptional commitment to its customers.

What Winning the Award Meant to Proaction

Customer commitment sits at the heart of everything we do at Proaction.

As a martial arts organisation, people often see the classes, gradings, competitions and Black Belts. But behind all of that is something much bigger: the relationships we build with our members and their families.

Many of those relationships last for years. We have the privilege of seeing children grow in confidence, families become part of our community and students progress from their very first class through to achievements they may once have thought impossible.

Delivering that experience takes commitment from every part of our organisation.

Winning the Customer Commitment Award was therefore about much more than receiving a trophy. It was independent recognition of the standards our team works hard to deliver every day.

To win once was an incredibly proud moment. To receive the award for a second consecutive year made it even more meaningful.

It demonstrated that customer commitment wasn’t a one-off initiative or campaign. It reflected something embedded within our culture and the way our team operates.

Most importantly, it gave us an opportunity to recognise our people. Our instructors, coaches and support teams are the ones who turn our values into the everyday experiences of our members and families.

The Value of the Northamptonshire Business Awards

The Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce provides businesses with something extremely valuable: a platform to be recognised, connected and celebrated within the wider business community.

When you’re busy running and growing an organisation, it can be easy to move quickly from one objective to the next without stopping to recognise what your team has achieved.

The Northamptonshire Business Awards create that moment.

They shine a spotlight on businesses of different sizes and from different industries, providing an opportunity to share success stories that might otherwise remain within the walls of those organisations.

For Proaction, that external recognition was incredibly valuable.

Being recognised alongside businesses from across Northamptonshire helped us look beyond our own industry and see Proaction as part of a much wider local business community.

The platform provided by the Chamber also helps demonstrate the strength, innovation and standards that exist within Northamptonshire businesses.

Awards are ultimately about more than the businesses that take home a trophy. They provide examples of what great businesses are doing, create opportunities to learn from one another and give teams the recognition they deserve.

Why We Chose to Sponsor the Customer Commitment Award

After winning the Customer Commitment Award for two consecutive years, we felt it was the right time to give another business the opportunity to experience what that recognition meant to us. To us, this award is the most rewarding and meaningful as its the key pillar behind our business at Proaction.

That’s why becoming the sponsor of this particular category felt so fitting.

We’ve experienced the excitement of being shortlisted. We’ve experienced the anticipation on the evening. We’ve experienced hearing Proaction announced as the winner. And we’ve experienced the pride of taking that recognition back to our team.

Now, we’re excited to be part of creating that moment for somebody else.

We also know that behind every finalist will be a much bigger story.

There will be teams consistently going above and beyond. Businesses listening to their customers and acting on feedback. Organisations improving their systems and services. People solving problems that customers may never even see.

Those are the stories that deserve a platform.

Celebrating Northamptonshire Business

Proaction’s purpose is lifelong learning and character development through martial arts, and community has always played an important role in that.

Being part of the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce has allowed us to extend that sense of community beyond martial arts and connect with the wider business landscape around us.

We believe strong local businesses make stronger local communities.

The Chamber provides an important space for those businesses to connect, share, learn and celebrate one another, and the Northamptonshire Business Awards are a fantastic example of that in action.

Going from two-time Customer Commitment Award winner to sponsor feels like a natural next chapter in Proaction’s relationship with the awards.

We’re enormously grateful for the platform and recognition the Chamber has given Proaction over the years.

Now, we’re looking forward to using that same platform to celebrate the businesses and people continuing to raise the standard of customer commitment across Northamptonshire.

To every business shortlisted for the Customer Commitment Award: congratulations.

We know what it takes to get there, we know what that recognition can mean to a team, and we can’t wait to celebrate your achievements.
