There is plenty of time to donate a gift to a special Christmas appeal to bring a smile to patients in hospital on Christmas day.  Every year, the team at Northamptonshire Health Charity asks for items to be donated that they can put into gift bags for ward staff to give out to their patients on the day.  Rob Powell from the charity said, “We are so grateful to everyone who makes a donation to enable us to make sure no one in hospital is forgotten at Christmas. We have received numerous inquiries from individuals and local businesses in our community. We really couldn’t do this without them!”

Typical items that are perfect for patients include toiletries, slippers, socks, dominoes, puzzle and colouring books, sweets, and chocolates.  For infection control, they must be new, in their original packaging, and not gift-wrapped. near the Main and A&E entrances to Northampton General Hospital, as well as
at the Volunteers Desk at the South Entrance. At Kettering General, you can
leave them with the reception at the Main Entrance or call the charity office
