Commsave kick off their 35th birthday celebrations
Commsave Credit Union is marking the start of its 35th anniversary celebrations this week with the launch of a new summer prize draw – combining chances to win with a clear message about the value of credit union membership.
Launched this week, ‘Commsave 35’ will see £3,600 awarded over the next 12 weeks, with prizes of £100 in weekly themed draws. Every existing member will be automatically entered, with new members included as soon as they join.
Matt Goulding, Chief Executive of Commsave Credit Union, said: “Reaching 35 years is a proud moment for Commsave, and we wanted to celebrate it in a way that reflects who we are. This isn’t just about prizes – it’s about recognising our members and the role they’ve played in building a strong, supportive financial community. Each prize is designed to be genuinely useful this summer, whether that’s help with a fuel or food bill, a family day out, or a bit of support for wellbeing.
“What makes this campaign different is its simplicity. Every member is included automatically. It’s our way of saying thank you, while also opening the door to new members who want to take control of their finances and be part of something positive.”
Each week’s prizes will reflect everyday spending, with themes including food, fuel, home, wellbeing and family.
In the final week of ‘Commsave 35’ winners will be invited to nominate a charity or local cause to receive a matched £100 donation, extending the impact into communities across the UK. This funding will come from Commsave’s Community Fund, which has distributed more than £150,000 since it was first launched.
With more than 43,000 members nationwide, Commsave provides safe savings, affordable credit and financial education, alongside initiatives that strengthen communities both locally and globally.
‘Commsave 35’ is the opening event in a year-long programme marking Commsave’s 35th anniversary.
Matt added: “This campaign also says something bigger about what membership means. We know more of our members are saving regularly since joining Commsave, and over 70 per cent tell us they feel more in control of their money. That matters more than ever, with so many households under pressure right now. Having a savings habit, even a small one, can be the difference between coping with a nasty surprise and being pushed towards expensive borrowing. It’s the kind of difference we’ve been proud to make for our members for 35 years.”
