A lifestyle store on Kingsthorpe Road in Northampton is playing host to a Christmas shopping event on Thursday, November 17.

The Christmas @ Bell Shopping Evening will see the Bell of Northampton showroom transformed into a Christmas shopping experience featuring live swing and jazz music from Paul Robinson, food demos and pop-up shops from local independents. The concessions within the Bell of Northampton store will also be open for the evening, offering a wide range of gift ideas.

Food columnist and chef, Carmela Sereno Hayes, will also be cooking up some festive food in the Miele show kitchen including bruschetta with ricotta and honey, chickpea farinata with pesto, stromboli, pumpkin and amaretti risotto and orange cake with spiced mascarpone cream.

Shoppers will get to explore pop-up shops by: Nakasuro, Fleur Fields, Friars Farm, Papa Dhabas, Bite Me Spices and Neals Yard. They can also use the event as an excuse for a bit of a pamper, with Sharon from Tropic Skincare providing free mini facials and skin advice too, Appointments are offered on a first come, first served basis on the night! Bell of Northampton’s Tammy Pell has been planning the event. She said: “We are hugely excited about this event which will give everyone the opportunity to get into the festive spirit with lots of good food, music and gift ideas.

“It brings together lots of talented, local artisans who will be exhibiting their candles, pebble art, greetings cards and soft furnishings, as well as featuring pop-up shops from some great local businesses and fantastic offerings from our usual concessions in store.

“It will also give visitors a chance to see some of the big changes we have made in store recently, such as our soon-to-be-completed new kitchen showroom, new bathroom displays and our extended outdoor living showroom. The outdoor living area has doubled in size and features a wide range of pizza ovens and outdoor grills, smokers, barbecues and outdoor kitchens – a selection of which will be in action on the night, cooking up some delicious samples for everyone to try.

“The last couple of years have been hard for small independents and local retailers. As well as being an enjoyable night out, this event gives us chance to show our support and give them a platform to sell their fantastic products.”

The Christmas @ Bell Shopping Evening takes place on Thursday, November 17 from 6pm to 9pm at Bell of Northampton on Kingsthorpe Road, Northampton.
