A charity initiative at Northampton’s Vulcan Works will support a popular local present appeal in the run up to Christmas.

Charity Tuesdays see the town centre workspace offer free hotdesking in its coworking space every Tuesday, in exchange for a nominal charity donation, which has so far raised hundreds of pounds for local causes.

For the next four weeks, instead of a financial donation, Vulcan Works is inviting visitors to instead donate a gift to the NLive Radio Present Appeal.

The appeal calls on the generosity of the Northampton public to donate gifts to ensure that those in need during the festive season have a present to open on Christmas Day.

Last year, more than 1,300 presents were given and this year there are more than 40 donation stations across the town. The donation point at Vulcan Works can be found in the main reception area, for the second consecutive year.

The Present Appeal will support five fantastic local charities – Baby Basics Northampton, The Doddridge Centre, The Spring Charity, The Hope Centre and Growing Together Northampton to provide presents to those in need.

NLive Radio Station Manager Rebecca Steers said: “We are really grateful of businesses like Vulcan Works supporting our Christmas present appeal. The Vulcan Works is a great location that brings creatives and small businesses together and a great hub in the centre of Northampton as a location for people to drop off their presents.”

Centre manager Garrick Hurter said: “This November and December, our Charity Tuesdays at Vulcan Works are all about the fantastic NLive present drive. We are both proud and delighted to be supporting this incredible Christmas gift campaign for another year. It is important to us to give back to the community we serve and this appeal helps local families in need.

“Every donation goes directly to people right in the heart of our community and everyone deserves a little joy this festive season so the more gifts we can collect, the better!”

All donations should be new and unwrapped.

Charity Tuesdays in aid of the NLive Present Appeal will run on 25^th November, 2^nd December and 9^th December.
