A beloved Northamptonshire charity is calling for runners to put their best foot forward in an upcoming local race to raise much-needed cash for their 50^th year.

Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity is urging supporters to take part in The Amazing Northampton Run this September with them as beneficiary, to mark five decades of the hospice serving the local community.

The event offers entrants a grand tour of everything great in Northampton in three different races – the half marathon, the half marathon relay or a three-mile fun run.

The half marathon starts in the historic Market Square, running downhill over South Bridge and following the line of the river past Northampton’s three main sporting grounds: Sixfields stadium (football), Franklin’s Gardens (rugby) and The County Ground (cricket), through three beautiful parks, passing through the modern University campus and back to the Market Square.

The Half Marathon Relay divides the 13.1-mile route into three legs, perfect for friends, families, or colleagues looking to conquer the course together, and the fun run allows families or casual runners to soak up the energy in a shorter burst.

All finishers receive a medal, and a discounted entry fee if participating on behalf of a charity.

Cynthia Spencer Hospice’s Community & Events Fundraiser Lead Katie Fouracre said: “The Amazing Northampton Run is such a brilliant community event, giving runners different options in which to take part and choosing a route that really showcases Northampton, taking in our fabulous local landmarks.

“We are hoping that some of the runners will consider running for us here at Cynthia Spencer as we celebrate our 50^th anniversary. It’s a brilliant milestone moment and a fantastic reason to get involved, we’d love to add your achievement to our celebrations.”
