The UK event industry shows no sign of slowing down just yet whilst the raft of re-arranged post COVID corporate and consumer events finally take place. However, due to uncertainty and most recently, much publicised chaos in the travel industry, most companies are sticking firmly to the UK for now.

Managing Director of local firm, Brightspace Events, Sarah Threlfall said “Even if our clients previously held their incentives and conferences overseas in the past, international travel has been very slow to return with the majority too nervous to branch out just yet”

However, after their success at COP26, the Brightspace team has just delivered their first overseas event post pandemic: a complex conference for a brand new sustainability centred organisation called Zero100 in Miami.

The inaugral Zero100 Forum was targeting c-suite level executives from some of the biggest brands on the planet including Amazon, Google and Nike – and the majority of these are based in the States.

Sarah added: “The choice of hotels in Miami is fantastic – particularly for this event that had such a focus on sustainability the One Hotel Miami Beach was perfect. There’s also a great range of really memorable activities including the Everglades and some top quality golf courses.”

In a crowded events market, where everyone is keen to reduce cost, environmental impact and time investment where they can, it is really important for brands to up their game and create events that people really want to attend. A sunny overseas setting certainly helps tick that box!”
