Big Band Bash returns for a nostalgic night of timeless charm

Revisit days gone by in a night of timeless charm this autumn, as Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity hosts its Cynthia’s 1940s Big Band Bash for the second consecutive year.

Last year’s inaugural nostalgic entertainment event proved so popular that the charity is rolling it out again in their 50th anniversary year, with reappearances from 1940s influencer Hannah Hall and 20-piece swing band Jazz Colossus.

Jazz Colossus was founded in 2014 by composer and bandleader Miles Hancock and in addition to performing published music, the band also perform a variety of custom arrangements and unique pieces created especially for the band.

At the event, which will be held at the Mercure Hotel, Northampton, on Saturday 14th November from 6pm, guests will be greeted with a classic 1940s welcome cocktail, served with vintage flair, setting the tone for a night of timeless charm.

Glitz, glamour and the spirit and elegance of the 1940s will follow, with canapes and a bespoke two-course meal thoughtfully crafted to feature 1940s favourites. There will also be a photobooth for mementos of the night, a fully licenced bar, a raffle and auction, offering exciting prizes and experiences — all in aid of a truly worthy cause.

The impact of a 20-piece jazz band really is something magical and to dance the night away while raising money for our amazing cause is a wonderful way to spend your weekend.

“Cynthia’s 1940s Big Band Bash is a chance to put on some glamorous gear and enjoy a feel-good event while directly supporting the compassionate care provided by Cynthia Spencer Hospice.”
