Award success builds momentum for group holding company with national awards finalist spot
Northants company, See Limited, has secured yet another awards finalist spot in 2025 for Innovation of the Year at this year’s National Building and Construction Awards.
The group holding company, responsible for businesses involved in the supply, distribution and fabrication of wood veneer and decorative laminate panels in the UK built environment industry, has been recognised for its innovative work, not only in reducing the carbon footprint of the group’s operations but by offering architects and interior designers more sustainable choices through material selection.
By focusing on innovation, See Limited has been able to take action to help remove the impact of its sector on the environment, which according to the UK Green Building Council, equates to 40% of the UK’s total carbon footprint.
The awards finalist spot recognises the company for:
- Distributing a line of zero-carbon driven products including BioCarbon Laminates, the UK’s first zero-carbon driven range of solid grade and high-pressure laminates for commercial washroom environments, and BioCarbon Worktops, the UK’s first carbon neutral kitchen worktop targeting UK homeowners.
- Working with environmental consultants and the Sustainable Business Alliance to produce an independent, third party Life Cycle Analysis, Environmental Product Declaration of the product range over its full ‘Cradle-to Grave’ life cycle, and an annual sustainability report.
- Supplying SanFoot® Real Wood Veneer and BioCarbon Laminates for The Londoner Hotel, Stansted Airport, and JFK Airport, where sustainability was key, validating and advising decision makers of the materials, environmental data and performance, contributing towards the buildings achieving sustainable building certifications.
- Taking steps to improve air quality in UK classrooms and school laboratories, by effectively communicating the benefits of GreenGuard Gold certified materials used in the complete Trespa® TopLab® range of scientific worktops – proven to be 85.3% lower in formaldehyde.
This latest awards finalist spot is the third for See Limited in 2025, having also been announced as a finalist for the Carbon Reduction Champion award at the Construction News Awards 2025 and for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability at this year’s Construction News Specialist Awards 2025. The company also picked up the Gold Award for Business Innovation at the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards in May.
“It’s an absolute honour to pick up yet another awards finalist spot,” comments Daniel McNerney, managing director at See Limited.
“We had a phenomenal year of award success in 2024 and 2025 looks set to be bigger and better with an award win and three finalist spots under our belt already this year.
“Innovation for See Limited isn’t just about new products, it’s about rethinking the impact we have as a business. It’s fantastic to start seeing projects being developed that are using only sustainable materials which proves that innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand in the built environment industry.”
The winners of all 21 categories will be officially announced at a special black tie awards ceremony at the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge Hotel, London on Friday 10th October.
