Acorn pledges support to three charities in 2026
Leading asbestos management consultancy, Acorn Analytical Services, has pledged to support three charities in 2026 – Mesothelioma UK, Cynthia Spencer Hospice and Tempeo Foundation.
Acorn Analytical Services has a proud track record of supporting charitable causes, raising thousands of pounds every year through staff fundraising challenges including a 24-hour team cycle, abseiling, Three Peaks Challenge and half marathons.
This year will be no different with the team making ambitious plans to top any previous fundraising efforts.
The three charities were selected by staff, with the team selecting Mesothelioma UK and Cynthia Spencer Hospice for the third consecutive year and Tempeo Foundation as a newcomer.
Mesothelioma UK is the only national charity dedicated to supporting people living with mesothelioma – a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos fibres.
Jill Lemon, Corporate Relations and Fundraising Manager at Mesothelioma UK, said: “Every year, around 2,700 people in the UK are diagnosed with mesothelioma as a result of past asbestos exposure. Mesothelioma UK exists to provide specialist support, trusted information, and vital research funding to improve care and outcomes for patients and their families. Support from organisations and training providers helps us continue this essential work. We are sincerely grateful to Acorn Analytical Services for their ongoing support, which enables us to be there for those who need us most.”
The team also wanted to continue to raise money for its local hospice, Cynthia Spencer Hospice, which means a lot personally to many of the Acorn staff members.
Nina Gandy, Corporate Partnerships and Fundraiser Lead at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, said: “We are grateful to Acorn for choosing to support Cynthia Spencer Hospice for another year. The money they have raised for us previously has helped so many people in the local community.
“This year is extra special for us as we are celebrating 50 years since the hospice opened. As part of these celebrations, we are looking for 50 individuals or groups to host 50 big fundraisers throughout the year, and Acorn will be one of these. We look forward to seeing what challenges they come up with!”
Tempeo Foundation is a new charity, established last year, which supports underprivileged groups in the region by creating meaningful experiences and community connection through partnerships with sports clubs, businesses and charities.
Johnathon Dowling, Director at Tempeo, added: “It means so much that Acorn has chosen to support the Tempeo Foundation this year. As a new organisation, every penny counts. Any money raised by the Acorn team will help bring experiences to families that might not otherwise be able to access them, such as football matches and trips to theatres and museums.”
Sam Savage, Managing Director at Acorn Analytical Services, added: “We’ve always been incredibly proud of how our team rallies behind the causes we support. We are keen to get started on our charity challenges for 2026 and create a positive impact through the funds raised.”
