A SINGsational night raises £14,000 for Cransley Hospice Trust

A business networking group form Wellingborough hit all the right notes to win two awards at the Cransley Hospice Trust “SING for Cransley”, at the Core Theatre in Corby on Sunday 3rd March.

The group of nine from the Business Room networking group in Wellingborough didn’t hesitate to sign up for the event when they heard about it.

Some of us thought it would be an amazing bonding experience for us all…the others agreed because they were slightly tipsy at the Cransley Silver Ball! Our ability ranges from three choir members to the absolute tone deaf.”  Said Rachel Efetha, Financial Designer from Anstee & Co.

“Cut to the Chase”  won the Audience’s Choice Award and the Fundraising Award for raising the most money for Cransley Hospice Trust.  They raised a spectacular £2,700 to boost the overall total raised on the night to over £14,000.

The networking group sang their hearts out to stand out from the competition and win the hearts and minds of the audience, winning with their performance of “SIX” from The Musical.  Each group received 6 weeks of vocal coaching and had to perform a song from the West End shows.

Esteemed judges, Nigel Adair, Joshua Daniels and the TikTok sensation Mae Stephens voted the local Louise Wright Theatre School Choir as their winners with a beautiful rendition of “When I Grow Up” from the show Matilda.

Louise Gurney, Fundraising and Events Development Manager said: “The night was incredible.  The diversity of the acts and their voices, everyone taking part obviously having such a fun time. The judges; Mae Stephens, Joshua Daniels and Nigel Adair did an amazing job.  There were a lot of nerves and a lot of energy backstage, culminating in performances that exceeded our expectations and were enjoyed by everyone.  And, most importantly a fantastic amount of money was raised to support people who need end of life care in North Northamptonshire.”
