Public Urged To Help Free Kettering’s Most Wanted At Cransley Hospice Trust’s Jail & Bail Fundraiser!
Cransley Hospice Trust are inviting shoppers and supporters to come along to Tesco Extra Kettering on Friday 31st July to help five local scoundrels raise their £999 bail as part of its popular Jail & Bail fundraising event.
The cells are ready, the suspects have been arrested, and now the public holds the key to their freedom!
Throughout the day, the ‘convicts’ will be locked up by Northamptonshire Police, and each take on a series of light-hearted challenges, endure plenty of public humiliation, while they do everything they can to persuade shoppers to part with a donation. Every pound raised will support Cransley Hospice Trust, helping to provide specialist end of life care for local patients and their families.
This year’s line-up of suspects certainly has plenty to answer for…
Matt from North Northamptonshire Council is usually known for his infectious enthusiasm, positivity and permanent smile. Sadly, not everyone appreciated his relentless optimism, with police acting after receiving multiple complaints of “aggravated cheerfulness.”
Steve from Tollers Solicitors has always been recognised for his bold wardrobe choices. From eye-catching shirts to statement jackets, Steve’s unique style has finally caught up with him after being charged with “serious crimes against fashion.”
Tesco Kettering Community Champion Julie thought she was simply enjoying a successful shopping trip until officers discovered she had allegedly been taking advantage of the Tesco colleague discount. Apparently, that’s now considered a criminal offence!
Kimberley from Co-op remained remarkably calm when approached by officers but soon discovered that selective hearing and refusing to follow instructions in-store had landed her on the wrong side of the law.
And finally, Ian from Beat Route Radio attempted to make a dramatic escape by running circles around the police car while handcuffed before being marched straight to his cell. His alleged offence? Playing far too many 80s classics on air, leaving loyal listeners with a serious case of nostalgia.
Each suspect must raise at least £999 to secure their release, and visitors to Tesco Kettering are encouraged to come along, enjoy the entertainment, cheer on the prisoners and make a donation to help them reach their target.
Olivia Bonner, Community Fundraiser at Cransley Hospice Trust, said:
“We’re so excited to see Jail & Bail return to Tesco Kettering and we’d love as many people as possible to come along and get involved on the day. Our suspects have been fantastic sports and are doing everything they can to raise their £999 bail, but they’ll need plenty of help from the local community to secure their freedom.
“Whether you’re popping in to do your weekly shop or making a special trip, every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us continue making every moment matter for local patients and their families. It’s guaranteed to be a day full of laughter, friendly rivalry and fundraising, so we’d love to see everyone there.”
Cransley Hospice Trust’s Jail & Bail takes place at Tesco Extra Kettering on Friday 31st July, where shoppers can donate, cheer on the prisoners and help decide whether these local ‘criminals’ deserve their freedom.
After all… every convict deserves a second chance—especially when it’s for such a worthwhile cause!
