Master Bid Writing and Grant Applications with University of Bedfordshire Workshops
The West Northamptonshire Growth and Innovation project, delivered by the University of Bedfordshire, is a new £625,000 business support programme open to all businesses based in the West Northants area.
Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the University will deliver business growth initiatives, including activities designed to empower innovation and accelerate growth. This will enhance productivity and competitiveness, whilst developing new skills and increase employment opportunities.
From fully funded participation in short courses to personalised 1-2-1 consultancy sessions with industry experts, businesses will receive tailored support to address their unique needs. £325,000 of matched funded revenue grants are available to qualifying businesses up to a maximum value of £20,000.
We offer practical and interactive bid writing workshop that will teach you the skills and strategies you need to succeed in securing funding. You will also get access to our network of experts and peers who can help you with your funding challenges.
We will explore the following topics:
- How to write strong funding applications and tender responses – including:
- Reviewing the, often overlooked, fundamentals for applications & bids
- Writing style – how to write concise and clear applications and bids
- Need and demand – how to demonstrate your project is needed & wanted
- Innovation – why is your project different and why does this matter
- Fit, outputs & outcomes – what difference is your project going to make
- Risk – how to assess and mitigate risks
- Track record – how to show your best history as a supplier & deliverer
- KPI’s and measurement – how to monitor your project & measure impact
- Costing – how to cost proposals
- Searching for funding and tenders – how to find new opportunities for your business
- Collaborations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – when these can be useful and how to set these up
- When not to apply – are there times when “not applying” is the best approach for your business?
- Dealing with rejection? – how to find the positives and use feedback to improve your future applications
- Toolkit – some useful documents and guidance to help you improve your bid writing skills
