B Corp Online Group Programme coming to Northamptonshire in February

B Corp Group Programme

This 9 week online programme is specifically designed for small service businesses who are interested in becoming a certified B Corp and joining the B Corp movement – committed to balancing people and the planet with profit.

Run as a collaboration between Alexina Cassidy of ActNow Consulting and Laura Slack of B Corp Expert this group cohort is a cost-effective way of accessing many years of knowledge and experience to guide you smoothly through the B Corp process.

Course Structure

The course is tailored to small service based businesses.

Over the 9 week period you will be systematically guided through the New B Corp Standards, from choosing the right track to submission of your assessment and preparing for verification. We will systematically work through the 7 impact areas and you will gain a deep understanding of what it takes to be a sustainable, resilient business.

There will be a maximum of 6 businesses in the group, which ensures that each business gets attention and support in a cost effective manner.

The online sessions are every Wednesday at 10-11 am, with optional drop in sessions every Friday at 10am.

Investment

Over the 9 week course you will need to be able to commit 2 to 3 hours a week – one hour for the Wednesday meeting and up to 2 hours to gather evidence and move forward with actions to increase the positive impact of your business. There are optional drop in sessions every Friday where any ‘sticking points’ can be discussed plus email support.

Next cohort: Starting Wednesday 4th Feb at 10-11 am ending on April 22nd April (with a break over Feb half-term and Easter holidays).

Investment: £1,250 with a special offer of £800 for the first 3 businesses to sign up. To secure your place, a 50% deposit is required with the remaining 50% due by 31st January, 2026.

Post Course support: Each business will have 2 hours of 1-1 B Corp Consulting online to be used within the 6 months following the conclusion of the course.

Who are your Course Leaders?

Laura and Alexina are a strong team. Together they run the Northamptonshire People, Planet, Pint group and co-chair the Northamptonshire B Corp Community. Their combined expertise provides years of experience in B Corp, Carbon Literacy, data handling and report presenting making them ideal leaders for this service business B Corp Course.

Laura runs B Corp Expert, a certified B Corp, and has assisted multiple businesses with B Corp certification and recertification. She also support businesses who, for various reasons, do not wish to/are unable to become B Corp certified but that want to use the framework to analyse their business and use the frame work to help them balance people and the planet with profit. Laura has experience in running B Corp group cohorts in other specialist areas in collaboration with Catherine Coward of The Good Crowd and is delighted to offer this course to service businesses.

Laura is a member of UK For Good and has completed their Leadership For Good programme. In addition to this Laura was selected to assist B Lab UK with developing their recently published courses.

Alexina is a qualified B Corp Consultant who works with SMEs on ESG and sustainability strategies and carbon literacy. She works to support businesses to be the best that they can be; successful, resilient and a force for good; for people and the planet.

Alexina founded ActNow Consulting, a certified B Corp, in April 2023. Alexina is an advisory member of the Sustainable Business Alliance, a collective of sustainability consultants. Alexina is also a Carbon Literacy Project Facilitator and advisory member of the Sustainable Business Alliance. Alexina has experience running B Corp Cohort Programmes in collaboration with Rachel Parsons and Jaimie Harris at The Pollinator.
