Walking Through Darkness for Sight Loss
Walking Through Darkness for Sight Loss
The popular ‘Tunnel Trek Challenge’ returns
The popular ‘Tunnel Trek Challenge’ will help raise crucial funds for visually impaired people across the county.
Local charity, NAB – Sight Support for Northamptonshire, are holding a 7km walk to celebrate and provide insight into the incredible lives of people living with sight loss. Participants are encouraged to fundraise for the challenge which begins at 10am on 19th October.
Starting at Draughton Crossing Car Park, the walk will take participants along the Brampton Valley Way before venturing through the 480m Kelmarsh Tunnel. Trekkers will be plunged into darkness, encouraging teamwork and giving a brief experience of life with visual impairment.
Refreshments will be enjoyed at the halfway point before turning back for the return leg.
At this year’s event, NAB are excited to be joined by Northampton’s mayor, Cllr Paul Joyce, as well as NAB client, Carl Peach, who will be joining the walk as part of his fundraising challenge to walk 10 million steps in 12 months.
Registration is just £5 and NAB encourage people to seek sponsorship from family, friends and colleagues.
If you need ideas or help with your fundraising, get in touch. The NAB fundraising team is on hand to help. All funds raised from this event will support the essential work NAB provide.
