🧠 Tools are brilliant. But don’t let them replace your brain. 🧠

Watched a great short today that got me thinking…

* We’ve got calculators – but we should still know our numbers.
* AI is there – but own the generated content then use it.
* We’ve got Duolingo -but we should still be able to hold a conversation in another language.
* We’ve got computers for almost everything – but we still need the underlying skills to do our jobs without one.

It’s easy to lean entirely on the tools we have access to and let the fundamentals slide. But the tools are there to make us faster and more efficient not to replace the thinking, the knowledge, or the skill itself.

The people who really stand out are the ones who can use the tools AND still function brilliantly without them. That’s true in engineering, in software, in business, in pretty much anything.

A good reminder for all of us, myself included, to keep sharpening the basics, even when technology makes it tempting not to. 💪

What’s a skill you make a point of keeping sharp, even though there’s a tool that could do it for you?
