Workspace festive present appeal
Northampton’s Vulcan Works will take part in a festive charity present appeal in the run up to Christmas, bringing joy to those most in need this Yuletide.
The town centre workspace, based in the heart of the Cultural Quarter, will be supporting the Mother Christmas present drive, which supports children and young adults in Northamptonshire who have had difficult starts in their lives and ensures each one receives a gift at Christmas.
Since 2002, the appeal has run annually led by local inspiration Jeanette Walsh, aka Mother Christmas, with more than 100,000 children receiving a gift.
This year, anyone using the coworking space at Vulcan Works every Tuesday and Thursday in November and December can do so free of charge when they donate an unwrapped gift to the Mother Christmas initiative.
Gifts must be brand new and in original packaging and can include toys, games, make up, beauty sets, cosy socks or slippers, or gift vouchers.
The donation point at Vulcan Works can be found in the main entrance on Guildhall Road, by the reception desk.
Gail Haddon, assistant centre manager at Vulcan Works, said: “Mother Christmas has spent her entire lifetime ensuring deprived children are not forgotten at Christmas and now we are proud and privileged to help her with her mission to ensure all children in Northamptonshire receive a gift this Christmas.
“We’d love your support in our efforts. If you’re able to donate an unwrapped gift, please drop it off at Vulcan Works reception. Every donation, big or small, can help make a difference.
“On Tuesdays and Thursdays you can work with us free of charge if you bring a gift, so switch up your workspace, get some work done and help make Christmas a little more special for a child who might otherwise go without.
“Spread the word and some festive cheer, please tell your friends so we can reach as many people as possible. Bring your laptop and a gift, grab a coffee and make your workday count for a little bit more this festive season.”
The Vulcan Works appeal begins on Tuesday 3rd November and will run every Tuesday and Thursday until Thursday 10th December. Mother Christmas is collecting the gifts on Monday 14th December.
