Trademark recognises health and safety consultancy invention

A thriving Northampton-based health and safety consultancy has been awarded a trademark for its fully documented and systemised compliance management process – the only one of its kind in the UK.

Acorn Safety Services, which provides health and safety services to businesses, charities and organisations nationwide, invented The Acorn Compliance Antidote® an A-Z process that takes a business owner from non-compliance through to full compliance in five easy-to-follow stages.

These are; diagnosis, identification, treatment, education and health check. The process is fully laid out to follow in a step-by-step and pragmatic manner with a consultant to hand forging the way, ensuring every potential risk is identified and addressed.

The Acorn Compliance Antidote® was developed through years of experience and knowledge among the Acorn Safety team, creating structured, documented processes for businesses to follow, so that their company is fully legal, in line with the government’s rules regulations and laws.

Now, by applying for a legal trademark, the award-winning company are formally protecting their Antidote brand from competitors under Class 35, business process management, a specific category used by The UK Intellectual Property Office to group trademarks that cover business services rather than physical goods.

Operations Director Zeynep Guzelkasap said: “We are proud and delighted that our hard work has been recognised and that we can formally protection this invention, which is a vital tool for businesses to ensure they’re following all health and safety legislation in a hassle-free, easy-to-follow way.

“It is our mission to keep as many people safe as possible, and The Acorn Compliance Antidote® is a really practical, useful way to help us to do exactly that.”
