Local businesses swing into action to raise over £18,500 for Cransley Hospice Trust
Cransley Hospice Trust is extending a huge thank you to everyone who supported their annual Charity Golf Day, which raised a spectacular £18,500.
The event, held at the prestigious Wellingborough Golf Club in May, achieved an incredible total that is enough to fund 24 days of specialised hospice care for a patient.
This incredible total will also help sustain and expand vital community resources, including the Hummingbird Bereavement Service. Commissioned by Cransley Hospice Trust and Cynthia Spencer Hospice, the service provides free, essential counselling and emotional support across Northamptonshire. By easing the pressure on core funding, the success of the Golf Day ensures more local families can access one-to-one counselling, support groups, and compassionate guidance, from the moment of a terminal diagnosis through to the difficult journey of loss.
The annual event brought together many local and regional businesses for a day of competitive golf, networking, and fundraising. Leading the support as the headline sponsor for the event was Tollers Solicitors, alongside a wide network of community partners and volunteers who contributed to the day’s success.
Rebecca, Corporate and Community Fundraiser at Cransley Hospice Trust, shared:
“We had a truly fantastic day hosted by Wellingborough Golf Club, and we were blown away by the incredible support from businesses, both locally and from further afield. Raising over £18,500 will make a massive difference to patients and their families at the hospice, and we are so grateful to everyone who took part. It is always a fun event to organise, and we are absolutely thrilled that it was such a success.”
Duncan, CEO of headline sponsors Tollers Solicitors, commented on their long-standing relationship with the charity:
“Tollers has proudly supported Cransley Hospice Trust’s Golf Day for several years now. I know firsthand the impact of the hospice, as many people close to me have experienced their exceptional care. We are incredibly proud to champion their work, and I am always encouraging others in my network to get involved. Our commitment to the hospice spans many years, and it’s a partnership we look forward to continuing long into the future.”
The sentiment was echoed by other participants on the day, highlighting the strong sense of community spirit that defined the event.
Cransley Hospice Trust extends their thanks to Tollers Solicitors, Wellingborough Golf Club, the numerous local businesses who sponsored holes, donated prizes, entered teams and the dedicated volunteers who ensured the day ran smoothly.
Following the success of this year’s event, the date for next year’s tournament has already been set. The Cransley Hospice Trust Charity Golf Day will return to Wellingborough Golf Club on Wednesday, 19th May 2027.
