Why Diversity Matters to Me – and to ITFixio

A Personal Journey to Northamptonshire

When I first moved from Greece to the UK, I arrived with ambition, curiosity, and a strong desire to build a meaningful future. Like many who relocate to study and grow their careers, I had to adapt quickly to a new culture, new systems, and new expectations.

It was not always easy, but those challenges helped shape who I am today.

Northamptonshire became the place where I chose to build both my life and career. It is where I developed professionally and eventually founded ITFixio. It is also where I built my family.

My wife, who is also Greek, followed a similar path. She completed both her Master’s and PhD here in the UK. We have now lived here for nearly 30 years and have raised our two sons in the community we proudly call home.

Why Diversity Matters to Us

That personal journey is a big part of why sponsoring the Diversity in the Workplace Award at the Northamptonshire Business Awards 2026 is so meaningful to us at ITFixio.

Diversity in the workplace goes far beyond policy or compliance. It is about creating environments where people feel valued, supported, and able to contribute fully, regardless of their background.

It is also about recognising that different perspectives strengthen teams, improve decision-making, and drive innovation.

As someone who started life here as an outsider, I understand how important opportunity and inclusion can be. I have also seen how much stronger organisations become when diversity is embraced not just as a concept, but as a lived practice.
