Are you a local business that would like to support local foster families?
Northamptonshire Children’s Trust (NCT) is inviting local businesses to show their support for foster carers by getting involved in its new Fostering Friendly Pledge, launching on 13th May 2026 as part of Foster Care Fortnight.
Running from 13th – 26th May, Foster Care Fortnight is a national campaign celebrating foster carers and raising awareness of the vital role they play in the lives of children and young people. This year’s theme, ‘This Is Fostering’, shines a light on the everyday realities of fostering, told through the voices and experiences of foster carers themselves.
As part of the campaign, NCT is introducing the Fostering Friendly Pledge – a new initiative designed to encourage local businesses to offer practical support to foster carers across Northamptonshire. By signing the pledge, businesses can commit to providing benefits such as discounts, wellbeing support or tailored services, recognising the important contribution foster carers make within the community.
A launch networking event will take place on 13th May, bringing together local businesses, partners and foster carers to celebrate collaboration and learn more about how businesses can become fostering friendly. The event will also highlight how even small gestures of support can make a meaningful difference to foster families.
Colin Foster, Chief Executive of Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, said:
“Foster carers play an extraordinary role in the lives of children and young people. The Fostering Friendly Pledge gives local businesses an opportunity to stand alongside them, recognise their commitment and show practical support in a way that works for their organisation.”
Local businesses interested in supporting foster families are encouraged to get in touch with the team on nctcommunications@nctrust.co.uk or sign up to attend the Fostering Friendly Pledge launch event on 13th May via: Fostering Friendly Pledge Launch Event – Fill in form
People considering becoming a foster carer can also attend a Fostering Information Evening on 20th May at The Old Savoy Theatre, Northampton, where staff and experienced carers will be on hand to answer questions and explain the fostering process.
