Glow with the flow in Twilight Walk
Shine brightly in a magical memory walk that will light up the streets of Northampton this Spring.
Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity has launched its popular Twilight Walk for the second consecutive year – an emotive, fun-filled fundraiser for family and friends to take part in a 5km or 10km walk as the sun sets.
The event, on Saturday 9th May, is the first of many during 2026 to commemorate the charity’s 50th anniversary – known as the Big 50 – and participants are encouraged to don seventies fancy dress to match the year the hospice was born, as well as carry glow sticks and light up accessories as they step out on to the route around the town centre.
The memorable evening starts and finishes at Delapré Abbey, and brings the community together to remember loved ones lost, raise awareness of the incredible work of Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity and collect much-needed charity cash.
Whether walking in memory or just for fun, all participants will be given a T-shirt to wear during the uplifting stroll and a medal as they cross the finish line.
Katie Fouracre, Community and Events Fundraising Lead at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, said: “Many of our walkers take part in the Twilight Walk in memory of someone special, and together we create a glowing procession of colour, love, and shared stories. Last year’s atmosphere was warm, supportive, and full of community spirit.
“This year we’ve tweaked our timings so even our very youngest walkers can experience the event at dusk and the magic of the lights across the town.
“We plan to fill the evening with light, energy, and sparkle as we celebrate half a century of caring for our community, something we take great pride in.
“Every step you take helps us continue providing our amazing, specialist care for local people living with life‑limiting illnesses, and for the families who rely on us. Your fundraising truly does make a difference — helping us be there when it matters most.”
Participants can benefit from Early Bird prices of £10 for children, £15 for adults and £45 for a family of four until Monday 9th March 2026.
From Tuesday 10th March 2026, tickets cost £12 for children (aged five to 15), £20 for adults and £50 for a family of four.
All sponsorship money goes directly towards Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity’s palliative care provision.
