Proaction Martial Arts Giving Back to the Community with Anti-Bullying Week 2025

At Proaction Martial Arts, we’ve always believed that the value of martial arts goes far beyond fitness and self-defence. It’s about confidence, resilience, and creating safer communities – which is why every year we commit to Anti-Bullying Week as one of our biggest community projects.

This year, our team delivered one of our most ambitious programs yet. Within our Academy, we ran a free anti-bullying and self-protection session not just for our members, but for their families too — parents, siblings, and relatives who aren’t even part of Proaction (yet!). Led by our Founder and Director, Master Tom Nicholson, the session was even extended to ensure everyone could gain as many practical skills as possible.

“Seeing the confidence grow in every individual during the session was incredible,” says Master Tom Nicholson. “This is exactly why we run these workshops – teaching skills to protect yourself is one thing, but giving people the mindset and belief that they can stand up for themselves is life-changing.”

But the project didn’t stop there. Our instructors also took the sessions into local schools, youth groups, and children’s organisations, providing free workshops to young people across Northamptonshire. These sessions focused not only on physical self-protection but also on developing mindset, confidence, and self-esteem – tools that are invaluable in life, inside and outside the classroom.

Anti-Bullying Week is a key part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the local community. By equipping young people with the skills and confidence to protect themselves and others, we are helping to build stronger, safer, and more resilient communities.

Due to the success of this campaign and looking ahead, we are now taking bookings for Mental Health Awareness Week 2026, for both schools and businesses. This initiative will continue our mission to promote wellbeing, confidence, and resilience, and we encourage organisations to secure a session early.

Proaction Martial Arts is proud to use our expertise to make a lasting positive impact in our community, because every child, and every adult, deserves to feel confident, empowered, and safe.
