The Northamptonshire Business Awards 2022 have opened for entries today (Monday 23rd May).

Organised by Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, the awards aim to recognise the fantastic work being done by organisations across the county.

There are 13 awards up for grabs this year including three new awards.

Two of these – North Northamptonshire Business of the Year and West Northamptonshire Business of the Year – are being supported by North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council to recognise the stand out business success story in their respective geographical areas.

For the first time, there will also be a President’s Award, sponsored by Wilson Browne Solicitors. The winner of this award will be chosen by the President of the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce Board, Robyn Allen alongside headline sponsors, Wilson Browne Solicitors. They will be looking to recognise ‘an awesome human being in our local area that has done something exemplary in the last 12 months’.

Robyn said: “I genuinely can’t wait for this year’s Northamptonshire Business Awards. It is always inspiring to see businesses celebrating their successes and I would encourage every business owner in the county to seriously consider entering. I’m also really looking forward to reading all the reasons why people get nominated for our new category this year, The President’s Award, where we want to recognise an awesome human being for just being great.”

Other award categories include: Business Person of the Year, Young Business Person of the Year, Best New Business of the Year, Workplace Wellbeing Award, International Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, High Growth Business of the Year, Customer Commitment Award, Employer of the Year and Charity of the Year.

These categories are sponsored by Learning & Skills Academy CIC, The University of Northampton, The Business & IP Centre Northamptonshire, Commsave Credit Union, RS Components, Global Health Tests, Azets, qoob, HR Solutions and Business Times.

Wilson Browne Solicitors business development and marketing director, Wayne Jenkins, commented: “Wilson Browne Solicitors are excited to once more be the headline sponsor for the Northamptonshire Business Awards.

“Just when we thought we were out of the woods with the pandemic, along come more challenges in the form of global supply chain issues, labour shortages, and now inflation. With such a great business community in Northamptonshire showing such resilience, these issues may knock us off balance but they never knock us down. This just goes to show how strong and adaptable local business is, and these awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise that, to celebrate success, and to pay tribute to the best in the county.”

Northamptonshire Chamber’s interim chief executive, Louise Wall, added: “Last year’s awards were such a success and reinforced the need to come together in person and celebrate the successes of our local business community.

“Since then, businesses have continued to live with the uncertainty and impact of Covid-19 and other world events such as the Ukraine/Russia conflict. Despite these challenges, our local business community has continued to thrive, creating jobs for the county and providing much needed products and services.

“We can’t wait to read the entries that come through and find out about the amazing activities and achievements the organisations of Northamptonshire have undertaken.

“We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors, especially Wilson Browne Solicitors who have been our headline sponsors since 2018.”

Organisations have until 5pm on Friday 1st July to submit their entry at Entries are open to all businesses across the county.

The finalists will be announced at the Northamptonshire Chamber Business Expo at Franklin Gardens on Wednesday 14th September with a glittering awards evening set to take place on Thursday 3rd November at The Park Inn, Northampton.
